Nicole Power

Lead (WP9)

Nicole Power is a Professor in the Department of Sociology, Memorial University. She has been doing feminist research focusing on NL fisheries for 25 years. Her research has examined the gendered and health and safety impacts of industrial, economic and environmental restructuring on workers and young people in fisheries communities, and the labour mobility among young workers in rural and coastal communities. Recently she has turned her attention to human-fish relations, focusing particularly on the political economy of the human-fish relations of wild and aquacultured salmon.
